Who We Are

Wilmington Response mobilizes thousands of volunteers, effectively providing timely assistance and support to over 15 disaster missions across the United States, helping communities rebuild and recover from adversity.

Since our inception, we’ve coordinated over 1,000 volunteers, delivering rapid relief and rebuilding efforts in numerous communities impacted by disasters.

Our Journey So Far

Founded during Hurricane Harvey, Wilmington Response has rapidly grown into a nationwide nonprofit, uniting volunteers and resources to aid communities affected by disasters across the country.

Year 2024

we mobilized over 1,000 volunteers who provided critical support in response to Hurricane Helene, which earned us a proclamation from Buncombe County in recognition of our efforts.

Year 2018

In 2018, Wilmington Response extended its efforts both locally and statewide to assist those affected by Hurricane Florence.

Year 2017

Established in 2017, Wilmington Response is a nonprofit that supports individuals affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Maria, and Irma in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, laying the foundation for future disaster relief efforts. The organization attained 501(c)(3) status.

Year 2005

In 2005, our founder, Nick Hiteshew, responded to assist with relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina.
